About the role Our Resource Consents and Compliance Team is seeking a Planning Technician. This is a front-line position, with a focus on maintaining and improving a quality service, primarily at our front counter. Key responsibilities will include: Being a first point of contact for our resource consent customers, helping with and resolving enquiries relating to the district plan and other environmental legislation and regulations Ensuring that consent applications are received and entered in line with relevant legislation and our processes Handling Official Information Requests under LGOIMA Assessing building consent plans for compliance with the District Plan or approved resource consents Initiate process improvement work, and updating and managing work instructions and processes for the Resource Consents and Compliance Team Managing monthly and annual statistics of statutory timeframes Assisting with coordination between the Council and Tiaki Wai About You Ideally you will have a relevant tertiary qualification in resource management, or a related environmental field, or applicable experience working in the field. You may also have knowledge of resource consent processes and experience in LGOIMA provisions, particularly those related to Official Information Requests. Your exceptional communication skills, ability to work as part of a team and experience and desire to provide outstanding customer service will also ensure your success in this role. What Next?
