To analyze, develop, and collaborate effectively with airline partners and internal operational teams, focusing on the implementation of air freight space procurement strategies, charter programs, and airline performance management. This role aims to strengthen corporate and enterprise air freight strategies, expand related initiatives, and support the development and implementation of new commercial linehaul lanes. PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Demand Analysis & Planning: Analyze air freight demand across trade lanes. Collaborate closely with the FedEx teams to define and validate airlines’ space requirements. Review airline flight schedules to identify suitable carriers that meet both express and freight forwarding product service requirements. Determine medium- and long-term airline space requirements by trade lane to support network planning. Airline Space Procurement & Management: Negotiate and establish Block Space Agreements (BSA) with airline partners. Manage, analyze, and recommend pricing strategies to ensure cost efficiency and market competitiveness. Develop and implement systematic performance measurement approaches and KPIs to evaluate airline partners. Operational Alignment & Execution: Align and collaborate with Operations teams on to implement and execute any new BSA lanes. Manage airline BSA processes, including contract approval and signing. Serve as the primary point of contact for airline partners on operational matters, including issue resolution and escalation handling. Coordinate with carriers on ad hoc and weekly allocation adjustments, rate revisions, and capacity cutback requirements. Charter & Capacity Management: Coordinate full and partial charter requirements to support operational needs. Support short-term air freight space procurement to address demand fluctuations. Analyze peak season capacity requirements and drive additional space procurement initiatives. JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE Academic: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Quantitative Analysis, or a related discipline. Experience & knowledge: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in air freight, airline operations, space procurement, or finance-related functions. Prior experience in the air freight forwarding or express industry is preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Microsoft Access is an added advantage. Strong analytical capabilities with hands-on experience in data analysis tools and techniques. Attribute: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good command of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (both written and spoken). Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
