We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to support and evolve a secure, scalable cloud environment powering mission-critical financial services applications across Australia and New Zealand. You will play an important part in delivering reliable, high-performing Azure solutions while allowing engineering teams to deploy efficiently. This role reports to Cloud Platform Manager Key Responsibilities Implement and maintain DevOps practices , including Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), to refine deployments. Develop, and support cloud solutions , including deployment pipelines, automation, virtual machines, and PaaS services. Assess security vulnerabilities , ensuring understanding of security standards. Manage and apply cloud network configurations , including Network Security Groups, virtual networks, subnets, and firewall rules. Collaborate with teams to lead consistency, reliability, and continuous improvement across environments. Monitor and improve cloud usage and costs through efficient provisioning and right-sizing of resources. Maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation for processes. Ensure cloud platforms meet availability, performance, and service level requirements . Qualifications At least 7+ years of experience working in Microsoft Azure or AWS Intermediate to experience of Azure or AWS including Terraform, Network Security Groups, Entra ID, and Azure Storage. Desirable, but not essential: Experience working with Checkpoint firewalls. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
