Design Delivery Manager

We are looking for a Design Delivery Manager to lead and empower our technical and project admin teams through to the next phase of growth. About the Role As Design Delivery Manager , you'll play a pivotal role in the successful technical delivery of our residential construction, from early-stage planning through to the handover of Homestar 6-rated homes. You’ll lead a team of high-performing professionals and coordinate consultants, ensuring all drawings, consents, and technical milestones are met on time and to the highest standards. You’ll report to the Operations Manager and lead a team that includes a Technical Manager, Design and Technical Project Leads, and Project Administrators. Key Responsibilities Lead and support a high-performing team of technical and admin professionals Promote and maintain strong Health & Safety practices across all technical delivery activities Oversee the preparation and coordination of conceptual through to construction drawings Ensure timely delivery of consenting and compliance documentation Drive quality and program performance from design to post-construction Collaborate with Project Managers to provide seamless technical support Engage and manage external consultants, ensuring performance and value Build and maintain strong relationships with councils, consent authorities and key stakeholders What You Bring 10+ years’ NZ relevant experience in Construction Proven leadership in a technical design or architectural management role Knowledge of NZS3604, NZ Building Code, and consenting processes Strong understanding of residential construction from design to delivery Experience with creating and managing design programs Excellent coordination, communication, and time-management skills A solutions-focused attitude, a sharp eye for detail, and a sense of humour! A leadership style that supports people to deliver quality results, while keeping the team energised and enjoying the work Commercial awareness — drive margin performance through effective consultant, consent and design programme management.
