Mulline Vintners Pty Ltd (Mulline) was established in 2019 by Ben Mullen (Head of Winemaking & Viticulture) and Ben Hine (Head of Operations & Business). Mulline produces premium cool climate wines from the Geelong Region, Victoria. After experiencing rapid growth and success, we are looking for an energetic and wine-passionate Cellar Door Manager to lead our hospitality offering, grow local sales, and help us tell the Mulline story online. You will be part of a tight-knit, ambitious team with a vibrant start-up culture and big plans for the future. This role is responsible for leading viticulture & vineyard management for Mulline and its group companies, coordinating all elements of the vineyard program – spray, nutrition, pruning, harvest and maintenance – across multiple vineyard sites, and leading a team of viticulture staff and contractors. We seek a candidate with demonstrated vineyard management experience who is ready to step into a senior leadership role. Key Responsibilities · Planning and coordinating all elements of the annual vineyard program – spray, nutrition, pruning, canopy management, harvest and maintenance – across multiple vineyard sites · Developing and implementing spray programs, including chemical selection, safe application, spray diary record keeping and withholding period compliance · Developing and managing vine nutrition programs, including fertigation/fertilisation and irrigation scheduling · Planning and coordinating pruning and harvest programs in conjunction with the Head of Winemaking & Viticulture, including yield estimation and fruit quality monitoring · Pest and disease management, including monitoring and integrated management strategies · Training, mentoring and supervising viticulture staff, including work allocation, upskilling and performance feedback · Engaging, supervising and quality assuring contractors and casual/seasonal labour across all sites · Coordinating maintenance of machinery, irrigation systems, fencing and vineyard trellis, including preventative maintenance scheduling · Hands-on vineyard and machinery operations as required, working alongside the team · Ensuring compliance with safe systems of work and Mulline policies and procedures, and promoting a safe workplace culture across all sites · Accurate and timely record keeping and reporting using vineyard management software and the Microsoft Office suite · Working with the Head of Operations & Business on budget planning, cost management and compliance · Any other duties as requested A competitive salary with company vehicle commensurate with experience Job Requirements Demonstrated experience in vineyard management, including planning and delivering spray, nutrition, pruning and harvest program · Demonstrated experience training, mentoring and supervising staff, and managing contractor · Experience coordinating operations across multiple vineyard sites · Prepared to work flexible hours, in all weather conditions, and do overtime as required · Effective written and in person communication skills · Ability to lead and motivate a team, and to operate autonomously · Strong organisational and planning skills · Interest in the wine industry Minimum Qualifications · Valid drivers licence · Valid licence to perform High Risk Work (fork lift) · Current chemical accreditation (ChemCert/ACUP or equivalent Additional Qualifications of benefit · Tertiary education in Viticulture and Oenology · Current First Aid Training Certificate · Other vehicle licences (such as truck) Note this is a hands on role working in a small team over multiple sites in the Geelong region Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid existing Australian work visa.
