Visitor Services Host

About the role As a Visitor Services Host, you will be one of the first friendly faces our visitors meet and play an important role in creating welcoming, engaging and memorable experiences. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself and our visitors in fun, interactive activities while sharing the stories behind our collections and helping people discover more about MOTAT, Aotearoa's technological heritage and the exciting world of innovation. Key responsibilities Actively engage with visitors Support the delivery of public programmes Respond to visitor needs with kindness, knowledge and enthusiasm Facilitate activities Share stories about collections and MOTAT Help visitors make the most of their visit Create an environment where everyone feels welcome, included and inspired About you Excellent customer service and communication skills Enjoy engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds Friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and confident Interest in history, science, technology, innovation or storytelling Enjoy creating fun, informative and engaging experiences Can work well as part of a collaborative and supportive team Experience in a museum, visitor attraction, tourism, hospitality, education or another customer-facing environment would be an advantage Genuine passion for people and creating great visitor experiences If you speak another language, that would be a bonus About us MOTAT is an interactive museum where people of all ages can explore, learn and play.
