Glen Alpine Station | Werris Creek NSW (Liverpool Plains Region) We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our team at Glen Alpine Station, Werris Creek NSW, to help support the day-to-day operations of our pastoral farming program. Glen Alpine Station is a premium 3044ha property and is home to part of Stockyard’s Wagyu breeding herd and a key operational component of our multi award winning, grain-fed beef business. Our close knit and high performing team are strongly committed to our work, producing Australia's most awarded beef. From the paddocks to the office, our team genuinely cares about each other, the animals we raise and the land we nurture. About Stockyard The Stockyard Group breeds, raises and feeds premium grain-fed Wagyu and Angus cattle across our properties in Queensland and New South Wales. Family-owned since 1958, Stockyard has built a reputation for excellence through a commitment to animal welfare, sustainable land stewardship and premium beef production. About the Role Reporting to the Glen Alpine Operations Manager, you will play an important role in supporting livestock operations, property maintenance and general farm activities to help ensure the efficient operation of Glen Alpine Station. Onsite farm accommodation is available as part of the role. Key responsibilities include: Livestock Assist with monitoring of livestock nutrition and movements Support with mustering, drafting and handling livestock Monitor animal health and report issues promptly Support with animal husbandry including, preg testing, calving and tagging. Equipment and Property Infrastructure Assist with the upkeep and cleaning of sheds, property and equipment Maintain and repair fences, yards and water systems Operate and maintain farm machinery, vehicles, and tools Quality, Risk & Compliance Ensure appropriate Quality Assurance processes are maintained. Ensure all operations activities are undertaken within expected corporate standards, industry practices and Australian legislation Culture, Communication & Leadership Promote an effective team environment. Work together as one Stockyard team and encourage open communication. Support a high standard of Quality Assurance and WHS management. Ensure the company’s shared values are adopted and maintained. About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Previous experience in a farm hand, livestock hand or station hand role Practical livestock handling skills and a strong commitment to animal welfare Experience operating farm machinery and equipment General maintenance skills, including fencing and water infrastructure repairs A proactive attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks Strong communication and teamwork skills The ability to work independently and take initiative A commitment to workplace health and safety practices A current driver's licence Experience working within a beef cattle operation and ownership of suitable working horses and dogs will be highly regarded.
