Electronic Security Technician

About the role We are seeking an Electronic Security Installation Technician to join our Palmerston North team, primarily supporting installation projects across a range of electronic security systems, with some involvement in service and fault response as required. This role is focused on delivering high-quality installations, from initial setup through to commissioning, while ensuring systems are installed to specification, on time, and to a high standard. You will also assist with basic servicing and troubleshooting when needed, supporting the wider team. Key responsibilities Installing electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, and alarms Assisting with system configuration, testing, and commissioning Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and scopes of work Supporting fault finding and basic servicing tasks when required Ensuring all installations meet company and industry standards Completing installation documentation and reports Working collaboratively with the wider team and maintaining clear communication with clients on-site Participating in an on-call roster and responding to after-hours callouts as required About you Experience in electronic security installation, with some exposure to servicing or fault finding preferred Familiarity with systems such as Milestone, Gallagher, Tecom, ICT, or Integriti (or a willingness to learn) Relevant electrical or electronic security qualification, or working towards one (advantageous, not required) Strong practical and technical skills with good attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and customer service skills Availability to participate in an on-call roster Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence Certificate of Approval (COA), or the ability to obtain one About us Waterford Security is a family-owned and 100% New Zealand-owned business.
