About the role AFFORDABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS LIMITED is seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installer to join our team on a full-time basis in Auckland CBD, Auckland. As a Solar Installer, you will play a crucial role in our mission to make sustainable energy solutions accessible to homes and businesses across Auckland. Your expertise will directly contribute to reducing carbon footprints and helping our clients transition to clean energy. This role combines technical precision with customer-focused service delivery, making it an essential position within our growing installation team. What you'll be doing Install solar panel systems on residential and commercial rooftops, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and building regulations Conduct pre-installation site assessments to evaluate roof condition, structural integrity, and optimal panel placement Prepare and secure roof mounting systems, including flashing, brackets, and rails to ensure weatherproofing and durability Install and connect solar panels, inverters, and associated electrical components according to design specifications and manufacturer guidelines Perform electrical connections and system testing to ensure all components function correctly and safely Collaborate with electricians and other trade professionals to ensure seamless system integration Maintain detailed installation records and complete necessary documentation for each project Conduct quality checks and final inspections to ensure installations meet company standards and customer expectations Provide customers with post-installation guidance and maintenance advice Adhere to all health and safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work site What we're looking for Trade qualification or recognised certification in solar installation, roofing, or a related building trade Proven experience installing solar panel systems on residential or commercial properties Strong working knowledge of electrical systems and safe electrical practices Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised solar installation equipment Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to solar installations in New Zealand Physical fitness and comfort working at heights and on steep roof surfaces Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Strong communication skills and a customer service focus Current driver's licence and access to reliable transport Preferred: Experience with grid-connected solar systems and battery storage installations Preferred: First Aid certification and advanced health and safety qualifications What we offer At AFFORDABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS LIMITED, we value our team members and are committed to supporting your career development and wellbeing.
