About the role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager (Construction & Developer) to join our team at PINNACLE GROUP , a leading construction and property development company based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, offering a strategic financial leadership opportunity within the construction and developer sector. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing role in the financial aspects and controlling functions for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing critical financial insights to support business growth and profitability. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and implementing robust financial controls across our construction and property development projects, playing a critical part in our continued success. The Incumbent is key responsibilities for most and/or all the following areas: Business Plan / Financial Budget Understanding the basis of preparing Feasibility Studies Assess the reasonableness of operating expenses and capital budget Analyse and assess how business plan can be in line with Corporate Strategies Performing periodic analytical review on the actual financial results compared to budget Analysing financial information, monitoring and interpreting the results versus business plan Facilitate budgeting and business planning exercises with relevant business units to ensure a balance is struck between realistic targets and ensure the overall achievability of such targets is attainable so that the accuracy of business cashflow projections is ensured Managing the preparation of the company’s financial budget Review and analyse the reasonableness of timeline, project milestones, costs and pricing assumptions used in preparing the financial budgets Track assigned project budgets and lead monthly budget meetings to identify and discuss any cost/budget issues Assist with ad hoc financial analysis of new and existing development projects SOPPs Take charge of day-to-day accounting and financial operation Responsible for all development accounting including project cost tracking and reporting, processing of project A/P, and construction draw processing for both new construction and renovation/remodel projects Track project costs, process invoices and prepare journal entries to appropriately reflect all development project costs and activities from inception through start of new company Conduct review and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of standard operating procedures; and Proposed/enhancements to current workflows of the current team to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations Prepare project cash flow forecasts, updating monthly for changes in estimates and schedules based on information provided by other functional teams Liaise with external auditors, consultants and tax agents on financial accounting and tax issues Ensure group’s accounting policies are appropriately applied to new development projects Ensure compliance with regulatory & statutory requirement and FRS Corporate Exercises and Special Assignments Participating in proposed corporate proposals e.g. land acquisition, proposed ventures into new businesses To prepare relevant financial simulations/statements based on any proposed business ventures; and To participate in the structuring and inception of various proposed business ventures Treasury Functions and Group Borrowings Monitoring and ensure efficient and optimal funds management Liaise with lenders on existing and new borrowings Furnish relevant financial documents (such as cashflow projections) to lending institutions and/or the relevant parties to facilitate the applications for financial facilities Establish, prepare, upload and maintain up-to-date and relevant documentations to improve efficiency financial facility applications and/or modifications/ improvements to existing financial facilities; and Participate in exercises related to capital raising and/or funds to ensure the future success and sustainability of various business units and/or new business ventures Finance and Accounting To assist and work closely as a team member in the Transfer Pricing exercise in the GST Review exercise periodically review tax implications based on the decisions made by management for various business units provide in-depth analysis into the financial implications of business decisions; and in the overall finance and reporting function as required under Board and/or any other relevant regulatory body preparation and/or review of monthly account reconciliations in accordance with Finance Account Reconciliation Standards Responsible for accurate and timely submission of monthly/quarterly management accounts and financial reports prepare monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet plus analysis for management reporting preparation of tax computation and in charge of yearly tax submission Interact with internal and external parties on finance and accounting related issues to undertake all other duties and responsibilities as instructed by the superiors and top management REQUIREMENTS: What we're looking for Minimum Bachelor’s Degree/Professional Qualification such as CA(M), ACCA, CIMA, MIA membership or CPA in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Banking or a related discipline equivalent being highly advantageous Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in financial and/or accounting management role, with preferably substantial involvement experience within the construction and/or property development industries and/or project construction companies is an added advantage. Strong understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and forecasting Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the construction and/or property development sector Proficient in financial analysis, modelling, reporting, and presenting financial information to stakeholders Proven expertise in project accounting, cost control, and budget management for large-scale construction or development projects Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Highly organized and detail-oriented, proactive with the ability to multitask and meet tight timeline Detailed with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights Advanced proficiency in using financial systems and accounting software such as Autocount and/or CSS and/or IFCA with strong Microsoft Office capabilities Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and financial reporting tools is preferred Proficient in written and spoken in English, Bahasa Malay and Mandarin to effectively communicate with especially Mandarin-speaking stakeholder.
