Wallem Philippines Shipping, Inc., based in historic Intramuros, Manila , is looking for a strategic and people-focused HR Manager to lead our Human Resources Department with professionalism, heart, and innovation. About the Role As our Human Resources Manager , you will take full ownership of our HR initiatives, guiding the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment to exit — while aligning people strategies with business goals. You'll ensure our HR systems remain compliant, competitive, and efficient, all while nurturing a high-performance workplace culture. You will report directly to to the Deputy Head of Business Support and collaborate with department heads and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead all phases of HR operations: staffing, labor relations, compensation & benefits, training , and employee services . Ensure timely and quality recruitment , with hires completed within 30 days of requisition. Oversee onboarding, orientation, and the creation of employee training plans . Manage employee performance, records, and grievances professionally and efficiently. Formulate and update HR policies, job descriptions , and employee handbooks. Identify training needs, design appropriate modules, and measure training effectiveness. Promote employee health and discipline, including coordinating medical check-ups . Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field. At least 5 years of relevant HR experience , including 3 years in a managerial capacity . Strong understanding of Philippine labor laws , DOLE compliance, and HR best practices. Experience in the maritime, shipping, or logistics industry is an advantage.
