Safety Managr

Job Summary We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Safety Manager to oversee occupational safety and health matters for our waste management facilities in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory safety requirements, implementing safety management systems, and promoting a strong safety culture across the operation. Key Responsibilities · Oversee and manage all safety matters relating to waste management facilities and daily operations. · Develop, implement, maintain, and review safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safety management systems. · Ensure compliance with applicable Hong Kong occupational safety and health legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and company standards. · Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, hazard identification, risk assessments, and follow-up on corrective actions. · Lead incident and accident investigations, prepare reports, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures. · Provide safety advice, training, toolbox talks, and guidance to management, staff, contractors, and frontline teams. · Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure safe systems of work are properly implemented. · Prepare safety reports, statistics, meeting materials, and documentation for internal management and regulatory purposes. · Promote continuous improvement and foster a proactive safety culture across the facilities. Requirements · Registered as a Safety Officer in accordance with the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Officers and Safety Supervisors) Regulations. · Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in overseeing safety matters for waste management facilities. · Solid knowledge of Hong Kong occupational safety and health legislation, statutory requirements, risk management, and safety management systems. · Experience in facility, plant, environmental services, waste treatment, recycling, landfill, transfer station, or related operations will be an advantage. · Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. · Able to work independently and liaise effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders. · Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. · Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and safety reporting documentation.
