Product Management Intern - Women's Health Diagnostics

About the Product We are developing a first-generation, home-use menstrual blood health-screening platform for women's health monitoring. The product combines a sanitary-pad-compatible diagnostic patch with a companion mobile app. Longer term, the platform may expand to additional reproductive, inflammatory and metabolic health applications. Key Responsibilities Translate user, clinical and technical needs into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and prioritised feature proposals. Conduct user research with menstruating users and other stakeholders to understand pain points relating to pad use, at-home testing, result interpretation, privacy and follow-up. Map and improve the end-to-end product journey, including patch use, result logging, quality-control prompts, longitudinal tracking and screening/triage messaging. Support product planning for the companion iOS/Android app, including guided onboarding, result entry, personal health history, trend insights and consent management. Work with bioengineering, assay, software, UI/UX, clinical and QA/regulatory teams to coordinate product decisions and milestone delivery. Plan and support usability studies, prototype testing and feedback analysis; turn findings into actionable product improvements. Research competing women's health, home-testing and digital-health products, and summarise market positioning and commercial opportunities. Maintain product documentation, roadmap updates, experiment records and concise progress reports for internal stakeholders. What You Will Learn How a women's health product progresses from unmet need and clinical requirements to prototype, usability validation and commercial planning. How hardware diagnostics, a mobile health app and longitudinal data are designed as one integrated user experience. Practical product discovery, prioritisation, requirements writing, user research and cross-functional project coordination. How product decisions in health technology account for user safety, privacy, quality control and regulatory considerations. Requirements Current HKU undergraduate or postgraduate student in a relevant discipline; students from business, design, engineering, computer science, biomedical sciences, public health or related fields are welcome. Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with an ability to organise ambiguous information into clear actions. Genuine interest in product management, women's health, digital health, diagnostics, startups or user experience. Empathetic and comfortable conducting research on sensitive health topics with appropriate professionalism and confidentiality. Able to work independently, collaborate across disciplines and follow through on commitments. Good written and spoken English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an advantage. Experience with Figma, Notion, Excel, user research, data analysis, mobile products or healthcare projects is helpful but not required.
