About the role We are seeking a Qualified Electrician to join our team on a full-time basis in South Dunedin, Otago. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, with a focus on solar energy projects. You will be responsible for ensuring all work meets safety standards and regulatory requirements whilst delivering outstanding results for our clients. Key responsibilities Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems for residential and commercial solar installations Perform electrical testing and diagnostics to identify faults and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting on existing installations Ensure all work complies with the Electrical Code of Practice and relevant health and safety regulations Provide technical advice to clients regarding their electrical systems and energy solutions Maintain accurate records of all work completed and prepare documentation as required Collaborate with other team members and contractors to ensure project timelines are met Identify potential safety hazards and implement appropriate control measures What we're looking for Current full Electrical Trades Qualification Valid Practising Certificate Minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified electrician in the construction, maintenance, or installation sector Strong knowledge of the Electrical Code of Practice and health and safety regulations Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and technical documentation Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail A valid driver's licence and reliable transport Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team Commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards on all projects Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and training What we offer At SolarGuys NZ Ltd, we value our employees and are committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment.
