A newly created position for a highly skilled assistant accountant, to join a really interesting business who are going through positive growth . Based in Sydney Olympic park, this business is looking to bring on someone, who can work closely with the senior finance Exec leadership and help support from an end to end accounting perspective eg; Responsible for day to day transaction processing Prepares month end journals, reconciliations and reports Provide support to operations for ad-hoc projects. The role will also be responsible for; Accounting support Prepare routine month end journals Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner Run and distribute month end reports to localities and management, once month end close is complete Support preparation of year end statutory reports Undertake analysis of performance under direction of reporting manager Transaction processing Support maintenance of Fixed Assets Register Support all Accounts Payable processes Monitor daily banking and cash flow needs Execute treasury transactions as directed Support bank and investment accounts maintenance Draft compliance & other returns (BAS, ABS etc) for review Follow up outstanding items Track and support fulfilment of donation and loan pledges by community Experience for this role ideally; Minimum 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience Post-secondary accounting related qualification, or working towards Good Excel & other Microsoft365 suite skills Good analytical skills Experience in accounting transaction processing and month end close Able to understand and execute routine processes consistently and accurately Exposure to ERP applications Ability to work with various levels of management when required Good written and verbal communication PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Intellectually curious, not just willing but keen to learn Attention to detail, particularly when dealing with a large number of localities Organised & well-planned, able to manage priorities effectively Positive attitude and team oriented This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an expanding business and working closely with great leadership, as well as a collaborative team
