Do you have strong forensic accounting skills and a desire to apply them in a law enforcement environment? This is a rare opportunity to work as a Senior Forensic Accountant within a specialist Forensic Accounting Unit, playing a critical role in serious and complex financial crime investigations. The work is challenging, varied, and extends well beyond traditional corporate, consulting, or government accounting roles, with your expertise directly supporting efforts to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks. There are currently three (3) temporary positions available as listed below, each with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. One full-time position temporarily funded through to 30 June 2027. One part-time position 0.4 FTE, 30 hours per fortnight temporarily funded through to 30 June 2027. One part-time position 0.5FTE, 37.5 hours per fortnight available through to 30 December 2026, whilst the substantive occupant is on authorised leave. Position Objective This role leads the delivery of forensic accounting services for criminal and confiscation investigations by applying Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards (APES) 215 as the framework. Conducts and oversees complex forensic accounting analyses to identify, trace and document the movement of funds and assets. Prepares and signs forensic accounting reports and associated witness statements for high‑risk or complex matters and appears as an expert witness in court. Provides technical review and quality oversight of forensic accounting reports to ensure compliance with APES 215 and evidentiary standards. Delivers forensic accounting advice and direction to investigators and legal practitioners, and assists with managing capability, performance and resource allocation within the Forensic Accounting Unit.
