We're hiring for a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer, but what actually is that? The role spans three categories: internal product and software development, client-facing engineering services, and technical leadership for our Account Management and fulfilment teams. This role is for senior engineers who love using technology to solve diverse problems and are comfortable moving between the roles of full-stack developer, technical architect, and consultant. Excellent communication skills are a must, along with the perseverance to solve problems that may not have obvious solutions. As a senior member of the team, you'll be expected to own solutions end-to-end - from scoping and architecture through to build, deployment, and handover - and to raise the technical bar for those around you. The Role Design, build and ship production-grade internal tools and applications that extend the capabilities of our account management and specialist teams Own the full lifecycle of the systems you build: architecture, implementation, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring and maintenance Lead engineering engagements including data integration, platform migration, workflow and process automation, visualisation, and cloud architecture consulting Act as the technical escalation point for complex platform and implementation issues Set and uphold engineering standards - code review, testing, documentation and reusable patterns across the team Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and provide technical guidance to non-technical stakeholders Write technical documentation and deliver training on the tools we build to engineers and account managers across the globe Partner with stakeholders to scope requirements and translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined technical solutions Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent practical experience 4+ years of professional experience building and shipping web-based software Strong full-stack development experience - modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React (or equivalent framework), HTML/CSS, and server-side development with Node.js and/or Python Proven experience designing and consuming REST APIs, and integrating third-party services and SDKs Solid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and query optimisation (SQL a must) Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (GCP preferred) - serverless, containers, managed data services, IAM and networking fundamentals Experience with containerisation (Docker) and deploying containerised workloads (Cloud Run, GKE, ECS, Kubernetes etc.) Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.) Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) Experience with testing methodologies and writing maintainable, tested code Nice to Haves Working knowledge of the Google Marketing Platform - Campaign Manager 360, DV360, Google Ads, Search Ads 360 Knowledge of online advertising principles, like ad serving, media concepts and reporting measures (CPA, CTR, etc.) Data engineering and ETL/ELT experience (BigQuery, dbt, Dataflow, Airflow/Composer) Experience working with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to accelerate delivery, and an interest in applying LLMs/agentic workflows to internal tooling Experience with automation frameworks such as headless Chrome / Puppeteer / Playwright Working knowledge of analytics and tag management tools - Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Adobe Analytics/Launch Hybrid mobile or native iOS/Android development experience Mobile event tracking via Firebase and AppsFlyer Experience with multivariate or A/B testing platforms Technology Used JavaScript/TypeScript,React/NextJS, Node.js, Python, SQL Docker, Terraform, GitHub/GitHub Actions, CircleCI Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, GCS, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI, etc.) Google Marketing Platform Services (GA4, CM360, DV360, GTM) AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
