Genome Data Assistant (Novostics2026-003)

Centre for Novostics (www.novostics.hk), a subsidiary of TR at CUHK Co. Ltd., has a vision to develop cutting-edge molecular diagnostics based on cell-free nucleic acids in blood and other bodily fluids. We are currently looking for a Genome Data Assistant to commence as soon as possible on a contract basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. The appointee will play a vital role in: Responsibilities: Supporting the Genome Data Manager in updating and maintaining the sequencing database; Coordinating with research scientists to prepare and deliver datasets; Receiving, converting and storing data, as well as performing standard alignment protocols; Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Genome Data Manager or the group. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, computer science, information technology or related field; Familiarity with common genomics data formats (e.g., FASTQ, BAM/CRAM, VCF) and commonly used genomic analysis tools and workflows; Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment; Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages, such as Shell, Perl, Python, or R; Good written and spoken English communication skills; Positive learning attitude.
