Pontoon Technician

Pontoon Technician Bellingham Marine is the global leader in design & build marina construction. With four offices across Australasia and nine around the world, it is our New Zealand Team seeking an experienced concrete pontoon technician to join our professional Auckland based team. Key Responsibilities and Duties Technical & Engineering Responsibilities • Reviewing, and updating production specifications, mould drawings, and technical documentation for Unifloat pontoon components. • Conducting engineering assessments to ensure structural integrity, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with marine construction standards. • Supporting the development,R&D, and testing of new mould designs, reinforcement layouts, and concrete mix adjustments. Quality Assurance & Compliance • Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, including inspections of moulds, reinforcement cages, concrete strength, and finished pontoons. • Preparing and maintaining QA documentation, test reports, and compliance records for internal and external audits. Production Planning & Coordination • Reviewing material requirements and working with procurement to ensure availability of concrete, reinforcement, and hardware. • Providing technical guidance to production teams on correct casting methods, curing processes, and finishing techniques. Health, Safety & Risk Management • Conducting risk assessments for production processes and recommending engineering controls to improve workplace safety. • Investigating production issues, equipment faults, or near-miss incidents and implementing corrective actions. Continuous Improvement & Innovation • Leading or contributing to Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives within the production facility. Skills, experience and qualifications required · Good communication skills, conversational level of english · A clean and current driver's licence · Tertiary qualification in relevant field eg engineering · 3 years minimum experience in construction or manufacturing This is a full time role with minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week Pay range $29 to $34 per hour If you take pride in quality work, reliable, ontime, work effectively in teams, show initiative and enjoy creating lasting marine structures, we’d like to hear from you.
