We're looking for an experienced Trade Certified Toolmaker to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of maintaining, repairing and improving the tooling that keeps our production lines performing at their best. About the Role Reporting to the Production Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring our metal stamping tooling is maintained to the highest standard, minimising downtime and supporting safe, efficient production. Working closely with our Production, Maintenance and Die Setting teams, you'll play a key role in driving tooling reliability, implementing continuous improvement initiatives and supporting faster, more efficient die changeovers through SMED principles. Key Responsibilities Maintain, repair and commission progressive stamping dies and tooling. Diagnose tooling issues and implement effective, long-term solutions. Minimise tooling breakdowns and production interruptions. Develop and implement tooling improvements focused on Continuous Improvement, Kaizen and SMED principles. Maintain tooling registers and spare parts inventory. Work with external tooling suppliers and designers on repairs, modifications and new tooling. Support and provide technical guidance to Die Setters and production personnel. Ensure tooling documentation and die setting procedures are accurate and up to date. Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all health and safety requirements. About You You'll be a highly skilled Toolmaker who enjoys solving technical problems and takes pride in producing quality work. You'll bring: Strong focus and commitment to health and safety. Trade Qualification (Certificate III Engineering – Toolmaking or equivalent). Minimum 10 years' experience as a Toolmaker. Experience commissioning and improving production tooling. Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory environment. Confident using lathes, milling machines, drills and grinders. Experience working with Continuous Improvement, Kaizen and SMED methodologies. Good organisational and time management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team. Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude. Why Join MiTek?
