Stationhand/Operator

About the role Oakdale Pastoral is seeking an experienced Stationhand/Operator to join our team at our Blue Mountain and Carmila, QLD location. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our cattle operations. As a Stationhand/Operator, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth running of our farming operations. What you'll be doing Undertaking general farm duties such as mustering on horses, fencing, pasture management, and the care and maintenance of livestock Operating and maintaining a range of farming machinery and equipment, including tractors, excavator, dozers, irrigation, and other specialised equipment Assisting with the planting, harvesting, and processing of crops Ensuring the safety and security of the farm property and assets Collaborating with the farm management team to identify and implement improvements to farming practices and procedures Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations What we're looking for Proven experience as a Station hand/Operator or in a similar farm-based role Strong working knowledge of farm machinery and equipment, and the ability to operate and maintain them safely and effectively Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues and make informed decisions A keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team A genuine passion for farming and a commitment to sustainable agricultural practices A valid driver's licence and the ability to obtain any necessary farm-related certifications or licenses What we offer At Oakdale Pastoral, we are committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment for our employees.
