The Officer - Data Analyst (Internal Audit) is responsible for developing and maintaining audit dashboards, preparing and analyzing data, and identifying trends, anomalies, and potential risk areas to support audit activities. The role works closely with the Internal Audit team and business stakeholders to transform data from multiple sources into meaningful insights, with a strong focus on Power BI. Responsibilities Power BI Dashboard Development Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support audit planning, execution, and monitoring. Transform audit requirements into clear and practical dashboard designs, KPIs, and visualizations. Use Power Query and DAX to prepare data models, calculations, and automated reporting. Regularly update dashboards and ensure that information is accurate, reliable, and user-friendly. Monitor audit findings, action plans, risk indicators, and other relevant audit metrics through dashboards. Data Analysis & Audit Support Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, exceptions, and potential risk areas. Support the Internal Audit team in performing data-driven audit testing and reviewing large datasets. Perform basic statistical and comparative analysis to highlight unusual transactions or patterns. Prepare summaries and insights to support audit findings and management discussions. Assist auditors in extracting and interpreting data required for specific audit assignments. Data Preparation & Quality Control Collect, clean, validate, and consolidate data from Excel files, system exports, and other data sources. Reconcile data across multiple systems or spreadsheets to ensure accuracy and completeness. Identify duplicates, missing information, inconsistencies, and formatting issues, and coordinate corrections with relevant teams. Maintain reliable datasets and data models for recurring audit reports and analysis. Reporting & Process Improvement Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for the Internal Audit team and relevant stakeholders. Maintain documentation relating to dashboard logic, data sources, calculation methods, and data preparation processes. Develop templates and automate recurring data preparation and reporting activities where possible. Recommend improvements to audit analytics, dashboard usability, and reporting efficiency. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Internal Audit team members to understand audit objectives and data requirements. Coordinate with Finance, Operations, IT, and other business functions to clarify data issues and obtain required information. Communicate analytical findings and dashboard insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. Strong proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard development, Power Query, data modeling, and DAX. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data-cleaning tools. Good analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks from data. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work accurately with large datasets. Good communication and stakeholder-management skills. Basic knowledge of internal audit, risk management, finance, or accounting is an advantage. Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau, or other data analytics tools is a plu
