About the Role Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data across APIs, databases, IoT devices, and third-party systems. Collaborate with clients to evaluate data needs and architect tailored cloud, hybrid, or on-premises solutions. Implement and deploy end-to-end data solutions aligned with functional and business requirements. Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies to address complex data challenges. About You Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing and building data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, Databricks, or Informatica. Hands-on experience building and configurating BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI. Proven expertise in data modelling frameworks (e.g., Star Schema, Data Vault) and workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Airflow, Luigi). Strong proficiency in programming and querying languages, including Python, SQL, Java, Scala, C++, SAS, or Kafka. Practical experience implementing enterprise data architectures, such as Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, or Data Mesh ecosystems. Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and native data services across major providers (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud). Familiarity with Agile and DevOps workflows. Prior exposure to Big Data, IoT, or AI/ML solutions is highly desirable. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and multitasking abilities. Business-level fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
