Installation Technician Join a growing, locally owned business and become part of the IDS team This is your opportunity to join Innovative Digital Solutions Ltd (IDS) , a locally owned and customer-focused business that has established itself as a market leader in Digital Management Solutions throughout the wider Bay of Plenty. As an authorised Canon supplier, we not only supply and service Canon products, but also have an established customer base using Ricoh and Konica Minolta multifunction devices, interactive display solutions and document management software. We are committed to delivering exceptional service, innovative technology and tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Installation Technician to join our team. About the Role As an Installation Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring our customers receive their new equipment correctly installed, configured, tested and ready to use. You will work closely with our Service Technicians, Logistics Coordinator, Account Managers, customers and their IT support teams. You will also provide customers with basic training and guidance, helping ensure they feel confident using their new equipment. Full training will be provided , making this an excellent opportunity for someone with an IT, technical or servicing background who is looking to develop their skills within a growing business. This is a full-time Monday to Friday position , based from our Tauranga office with travel throughout the Bay of Plenty and other areas as required. Key Responsibilities As an Installation Technician, your responsibilities will include: Loading and unloading vans and trucks for daily installations. Delivering and installing multifunction devices and related equipment. Safely moving photocopiers and other equipment, including operating a stair walker. Configuring, setting up and testing new equipment to ensure it is fully operational. Connecting multifunction devices to customer IT networks and working with customer IT support teams to establish network connectivity. Installing and configuring printer drivers on customer computers and networks. Setting up and testing scan-to-email, scan-to-network and other document scanning functions. Configuring network and device settings in accordance with customer requirements. Providing customers with hands-on training and guidance on the operation and features of their photocopier and multifunction equipment. Explaining key functions, including printing, copying, scanning and finishing options, to ensure customers are confident using their new equipment. Liaising with our Logistics Coordinator and Account Managers to ensure installations run smoothly and customer requirements are met. Completing workshop tasks, equipment preparation and pre-installation configuration. Diagnosing and resolving basic installation and connectivity issues. Maintaining a high standard of workmanship, presentation and customer service. Ensuring all installation work is completed safely, professionally and in accordance with company procedures. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys working with both technology and people. You will ideally have: Photocopier servicing or installation experience (advantageous) Experience servicing Canon and/or Ricoh devices (highly desirable) Good IT knowledge (desirable) Excellent customer service and communication skills A proactive and self-motivated approach The ability to work independently and manage your workload A positive and reliable attitude The ability to work well as part of a team Excellent written and spoken English The physical fitness required to safely move and handle equipment and accessories An Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (EAS) qualification, or be working towards obtaining one (desirable) A full, clean New Zealand driver's license Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable and takes pride in getting the job done properly .
