About the business Howick Ltd, www.howickltd.com, manufactures specialist automated roll-forming machinery which is exported to 80 countries globally for the construction industry. Howick Ltd is part of an exciting game-changer in manufactured or industrialised construction, which uses technology and light gauge steel to build more efficiently. We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Fitter to join us on our journey, to contribute to the continued success of the company. NZ and family-owned and operated, located at our new 4000m2 factory in Brookby, Auckland. We are a diverse team with great company culture, nice new factory and surrounded by 88 acres of farmland. About the role and what you will be doing At Howick, we take pride that our machines are proudly 100% NZ and Howick made. The major componentry in our roll-forming systems are CNC manufactured in-house. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to assemble a variety of machines in our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for assembling a variety of new roll-forming machines and machine tooling You will work in an environment and be exposed to all aspects of general engineering practices in the manufacture, assembly and testing of high-tech, high-value machinery You will receive a breadth of experience in not just the mechanical aspect, but also hydraulics and electrical, and in commissioning testing of machines before they go out the door If you have the right qualities and background, we will provide the training This is a full-time position with regular hours (Mon to Fri) About you - your qualifications, abilities, and experience Minimum 3 years Fitting / Mechanical experience Be competent in reading mechanical drawings Be confident in working with a range of mechanical tools You should have a keen eye for detail and take pride in everything you do Can troubleshoot and diagnose problems Be able to work independently What is in it for you?
