Want to make a positive impact in reducing homelessness, increasing health and wellbeing and helping people transition back into the community from prison? The Transition Worker provides holistic, intensive, outreach case work delivering a throughcare model of pre- and post-release support for First Nations people with multiple and compounding needs. The Transition Worker will work alongside people to connect to culture and community and create sustainable pathways away from the criminal justice system. This role operates in Broken Hill with travel to Wilcannia and Menindee. Why work for us? Demonstrated cultural competency and knowledge of issues relating to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities Well-developed written and verbal communication as well as computer skills including ability to competently use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of current child protection issues and legislation. Driver licence A current NSW Working with Children Check and criminal record check (please note, a criminal record is not a barrier to being considered for a role with CRC) Why we're requesting police checks for this role We request these checks as they are a requirement of the funding contract covering this position.
