About the role We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Solar Technician to join our Auckland team, working out on our projects across the North Island. Reporting to our Auckland-based Project Manager (PM), you'll be on-site day to day, assisting with commissioning, driving installation progress, and making sure work is completed to standard, on time, and safely. This is not an office-based role. You'll spend the large majority of your time on commercial and residential solar sites, working alongside install crews and directly supporting the PM to deliver projects. Key responsibilities On-site delivery (primary focus) Work on-site across commercial and residential solar PV installations throughout the North Island, assisting with and carrying out installation work. Assist with commissioning of completed systems, including testing, fault-finding, and handover checks. Support the PM in driving daily progress on-site, keeping installations moving, coordinating with install teams, and resolving issues as they come up. Carry out site inspections and quality checks on installation works, flagging and helping resolve non-conformances. Identify and troubleshoot reactive installation issues on-site, proposing and implementing practical solutions and making the changes. Uphold installation standards, safety, and quality across all North Island sites you work on. Maintain accurate records of site visits, inspections, commissioning results, and works completed. Supporting the wider team (secondary) Complete site assessments for prospective projects when required, feeding back accurate site information and photos to the PM and BDM. Flag site-specific risks, access constraints, or installation considerations you identify while on-site. Assist with take-off quantities (materials, cabling, mounting, etc.) when requested for tender purposes. About you Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in solar PV installation and commissioning, across both residential and commercial projects. A relevant EWRB (Electrical Workers Registration Board) license, with the ability to access and work at electrical distribution boards. Legal right to work in New Zealand. Full, unrestricted New Zealand driver's license. Willingness and ability to travel frequently in and around the North Island, including overnight stays as required. Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, solar PV components, and installation/safety standards. Confident reading and working from technical drawings and schematics on-site. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in varied weather conditions. Strong problem-solving skills with sound, practical judgement on-site. Good communication skills — able to report clearly to the PM and coordinate effectively with install teams and clients on-site. Benefits Competitive salary, based on experience. Company vehicle. Opportunities for professional growth and training. A supportive, forward-thinking team environment. The chance to work on high-profile, meaningful renewable energy projects. About us Endless Energy is a leading solar and renewable energy EPC (Engineer–Procure–Construct) business, delivering high-quality commercial and domestic solar PV installations across New Zealand and the Pacific. With branches in Christchurch and Auckland, we have built a reputation for delivering complex, high-profile projects, including Antarctica, Go Media Stadium in Auckland, and installations within New Zealand and the Chatham Islands, with consistency, quality, and predictability.
