About the role Pacific Portable Buildings is looking for a Build, Painting & Fit Out team member to join our growing team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across workshop builds, finishing work, site installations and, at times, supporting our Event Base team with event project delivery. We're looking for a mid-level all-rounder with solid painting experience, practical building capability and a good level of technical confidence. Someone who takes pride in producing quality work and enjoys being part of a team delivering premium modular buildings throughout New Zealand. The role is primarily based within Pacific Portable Buildings, however flexibility is important. At times, particularly around peak event delivery periods, you may work as part of the wider Event Base crew on a rostered basis, supporting event builds, installations and pack-outs. What You'll Be Doing Workshop based Interior and exterior painting. Surface preparation and finishing. Modular building assembly, modifications and fit-out. General construction and build work. Site installations and project work. Workshop fabrication support. Supporting Event Base event builds, installations and pack-outs as required during peak periods. Operating company vehicles and equipment. Working safely and maintaining high-quality workmanship. What we're looking for Previous commercial painting and finishing experience. Practical construction, building or site experience. Good general understanding of building assembly and construction methods. Confident using hand and power tools. Comfortable working in a moderately technical, hands-on environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work across Pacific Portable Buildings and, as required, Event Base project delivery. Flexibility around working hours and rostered work when project requirements call for it. A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile - our "Give a Damn" factor. Highly Regarded Class 2 Truck Licence - highly advantageous. Forklift licence. MEWP / Scissor Lift. Site Safe Passport. Experience on commercial construction sites. Experience working on event or temporary structure sites.
