Key responsibilities Preparing monthly financial reports and management accounts Maintaining general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting processes Managing fixed assets and accruals Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities Monitoring cash flow and assisting with treasury functions Ensuring compliance with financial policies, taxation, and statutory requirements Assisting with audit preparation and external reporting requirements Analysing financial results and providing insights to management Identifying process improvement opportunities and strengthening financial controls About you A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance Previous accounting experience, ideally within a commercial environment Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills A proactive and positive approach to work Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience in the automotive industry would be beneficial but is not essential About us Timaru Motors is a trusted and well-established Ford & Mazda automotive dealership, delivering exceptional service to customers throughout the region.
