Due to a strong pipeline of work, Craftsman Cabinets is looking for an experienced Cabinetry & Joinery Installer to join our team. We specialise in high-end architectural residential cabinetry, delivering bespoke joinery that is designed and built specifically for each client. This is not production work or volume housing. Every project is unique, with an emphasis on exceptional craftsmanship, precision, and premium finishes. Our work regularly features solid timber, timber veneer, brass, stainless steel, glass and other premium materials. We are looking for someone who understands the care these products require and takes pride in handling, transporting and installing them without damage. About the Role This role is primarily site-based, installing custom cabinetry throughout Auckland, Northland and the Bay of Plenty, with occasional travel elsewhere in New Zealand depending on project requirements. When not on site, you'll work alongside our workshop team, assisting with the assembly, manufacture and preparation of upcoming projects. You will report directly to our Production Manager, making excellent communication an essential part of the role. You'll be responsible for keeping him informed of site progress, identifying potential issues early, and working collaboratively to ensure installations run smoothly, efficiently and to the highest standard. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and understands that sometimes staying an extra hour to complete an installation is far more efficient than returning another day. Flexibility, initiative and a commitment to delivering an outstanding finished product are qualities we highly value. You'll be joining a close-knit family business with a reputation for quality workmanship, where every team member plays an important role in maintaining the standards our clients expect. What You'll Be Doing Installing high-end custom cabinetry in premium residential homes. Reading and interpreting cabinetry drawings, plans and installation details. Accurately levelling, fixing, scribing and fitting cabinetry to suit site conditions. Making accurate adjustments and modifications on site where required. Working closely with the Production Manager to communicate installation progress and resolve any site issues. Protecting finished cabinetry and clients' homes throughout the installation process. Assisting in the workshop between installations with cabinet assembly, manufacturing support, preparation and packing of upcoming projects. Working collaboratively with cabinet makers and other installers to ensure projects are delivered on time. Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment on site and in the workshop. Representing Craftsman Cabinets professionally when working with clients, builders, architects and other trades. What We're Looking For Ideally, you will have: Proven experience installing high-end cabinetry or architectural joinery. A trade qualification in Cabinet Making or Joinery (preferred). Excellent communication skills. The ability to work independently while also contributing to a team. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet when site conditions change. High attention to detail and genuine pride in your workmanship. Experience handling and installing premium materials, including solid timber and veneer. Previous work with brass, stainless steel and glass would be an advantage A respectful, professional manner when working in clients' homes, treating them as you would your own. A current full New Zealand driver's licence. The Person We're Looking For You'll fit in well if you: Take genuine pride in producing exceptional work. Have the initiative to solve problems and think ahead. Communicate openly and honestly with your team. Understand the importance of protecting premium materials and finished surfaces. We work in some of New Zealand's finest homes. Our clients place significant trust in us, so professionalism, discretion, respect for privacy and careful treatment of their property are non-negotiable. Are flexible when a project requires an extra hour to finish the job properly. Enjoy helping others and contributing wherever needed. Take responsibility for keeping your work area, vehicle and site clean and organised. We place a high value on presentation, professionalism and attention to detail. A clean, tidy work site reflects the pride we take in our workmanship, and every installer is expected to leave each site organised, safe and respectful of the client's home. Our clients place significant trust in us when we work in their homes, and many value their privacy. We expect every team member to be courteous, well presented, respectful and discreet at all times, while taking care to protect the client's property and finished surfaces. The way we conduct ourselves in our clients' homes is just as important as the quality of the cabinetry we install. Travel Travel is a regular part of this role. Projects are primarily located throughout Auckland, Northland and the Bay of Plenty. Occasionally, projects may be located elsewhere in New Zealand. Paid travel time. Accommodation provided when staying away from home. Meal allowance paid for overnight stays. Hours Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 5:00pm Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm While these are our standard working hours, we're looking for someone who understands that occasionally staying on site a little longer to complete an installation is the most efficient outcome for both the client and the team. Work on some of New Zealand's finest architectural homes. Every project is different, with challenging and rewarding installations.
