About WeedeN WeedeN operates 75+ boutique cannabis dispensaries across Bangkok, Phuket, Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Pattaya and Krabi, through six legal entities and a team of 250+ people. We are one of the largest retail networks in Thailand's licensed cannabis market, and we are still growing. The role This is the most senior people role in the group. You report directly to the CEO, sit on the Executive Committee alongside Operations and Finance, and own the HR function end to end: strategy, structure, cost, compliance and team. It is a business partner role before it is a head office role. You work side by side with the COO, the Regional Retail Managers and the District Managers, close to the stores and close to the P&L. You also own the HR process itself, from manpower planning through hiring, payroll, performance and offboarding, and you are accountable for whether it actually works in a store in Krabi, not just on paper in Bangkok. The function is already built. Commission schemes, payroll across all six entities, a store level capability framework, a full policy library, work permit tracking, and HR business partners embedded in every zone. You are not starting from zero. You are taking a working system, defending it, sharpening it, and scaling it as the network grows. What you will own Business partnering with the CEO, COO, Regional Retail Managers and District Managers on structure, headcount, cost and team performance The full HR process end to end: manpower planning, hiring, onboarding, payroll, performance, development, employee relations and offboarding Group people strategy, organisation design and workforce planning against the store opening pipeline Group people cost, salary structures, and the Budtender commission and incentive schemes Legal and regulatory compliance: Thai Labour Protection Act, social security, work permits and immigration, and the cannabis framework as it applies to staffing and licensing Final decisions on disciplinary outcomes, terminations and settlements, including representing WeedeN before the labour office Recruitment across the group, from Budtender volume hiring to executive appointments Payroll governance across six entities, HRIS integrity, and the monthly people dashboard to the Executive Committee Coaching store and district managers so people issues get solved on the floor before they reach head office Leadership and development of the HR team across business partnering, talent acquisition, operations, payroll and learning, including succession What we are looking for At least 5 years as the most senior HR person in an organisation, or leading an HR team A team builder. You can recruit, develop and mobilise an HR team that the business actually relies on A real business partner. Comfortable in stores and in operations meetings, not only in the HR office Hands on with the full HR process, and able to redesign a broken one yourself rather than wait for a consultant Multi site retail, hospitality or F&B background, with 300 or more employees Experience in the retail category Strong command of Thai labour law, social security, work permit procedures and labour court practice Track record reporting into a CEO, Board or shareholder group Full professional fluency in Thai and English Comfortable with regular travel to island and provincial locations Experience in a founder led or fast scaling business Who does well here Someone the managers call before a problem becomes a case. Someone who reads legislation directly and forms a position rather than waiting for counsel. Someone who argues with headcount and cost data, not opinion. Someone who spends real time on the shop floor in Samui and can walk into a Board meeting in Bangkok the same week. Someone who says no to the CEO when the law or employee welfare requires it.
