About the Role Biocon Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Network Infrastructure Support Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance the organization's enterprise network infrastructure across office, manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and IT/OT environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, performance, and security of network services while supporting cybersecurity initiatives, wireless infrastructure, industrial network integration, and infrastructure modernization projects. Key Responsibilities · Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure including Cisco switches and routers, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), Aruba wireless solutions, Ruckus wireless solutions, Next-Generation Firewalls (Cisco Firepower, FortiGate, Palo Alto, or equivalent), Industrial Ethernet switches, and OT network infrastructure. · Monitor network performance, availability, bandwidth utilization, and security events to ensure high system uptime and service reliability. · Troubleshoot network-related issues involving LAN, WAN, WLAN, Internet, VPN, SD-WAN connectivity, TCP/IP, VLANs, trunking, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, NAT, firewall policies, wireless roaming, latency, packet loss, and performance degradation. · Implement and maintain network security controls including network segmentation, Access Control Lists (ACL), DMZ architecture, NAC, ZTNA, and secure remote access solutions. · Support IT/OT network integration projects while maintaining cybersecurity and compliance requirements. · Participate in network refresh, migration, deployment, expansion, and infrastructure upgrade projects. · Coordinate with vendors, system integrators, and service providers for project implementation, troubleshooting, and support activities. · Maintain network diagrams, SOPs, technical documentation, reports, and knowledge-sharing materials. · Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience initiatives. · Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for network infrastructure incidents and service requests. Requirements Education · Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience · Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network infrastructure support, administration, or engineering. Technical Knowledge & Skills · Cisco Catalyst switching and routing platforms. · Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), Aruba wireless infrastructure, and Ruckus wireless infrastructure/controllers. · Enterprise firewall administration and troubleshooting. · TCP/IP networking fundamentals and packet-level troubleshooting. · VLANs, STP, RSTP, MST, EtherChannel, HSRP/VRRP. · Static and dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. · DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, QoS, and multicast technologies. · Structured cabling systems and fiber optic infrastructure. · Network monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting methodologies. · Enterprise network security best practices. Wireless Networking Knowledge · Enterprise Wi-Fi deployment, support, and troubleshooting. · Cisco, Aruba, and Ruckus wireless ecosystems. · Wireless LAN Controllers and centralized wireless management platforms. · RF fundamentals and wireless design concepts. · 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and Wi-Fi 6 / 6E technologies. · Channel planning, RF optimization, signal coverage, and interference analysis. · Roaming optimization and wireless capacity planning. · Wireless security including WPA2, WPA3, and 802.1X. · Wireless site surveys and troubleshooting tools. Security & Industrial Network Knowledge · ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). · Network segmentation and cybersecurity best practices. · NIST / IEC 62443 / ICS Cybersecurity Framework. · IT/OT network architecture and integration. · Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or regulated industry environments. Preferred Certifications · CCNA or CCNP Enterprise. · Cisco CyberOps Associate. · Aruba Certified Associate (ACA) or equivalent. · Ruckus Wireless Certification. · Fortinet FCF / NSE. · Palo Alto PCNSA / PCNSE. · CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator). · CompTIA Network+. Nice-to-Have · Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center), Aruba Central, or Ruckus SmartZone. · Exposure to network automation, scripting, or REST APIs. · Familiarity with network monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, PRTG, LogicMonitor, or similar. · Basic cloud networking knowledge such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. · Basic database administration exposure. What We Are Looking For · Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. · Hands-on approach to solving technical challenges. · Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. · Good communication and stakeholder management skills. · Team player with a strong willingness to learn and grow. · Ability to support business-critical operations in a manufacturing environment.
