You'll be instrumental in implementing and optimizing third-party solutions that power our business! Project Power-Up : Participate in project activities based on assigned project role. System Testing & Validation: Engage in system testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) during solution implementation to ensure requirements and business needs are met. Application Health & Oversight: Act as a shore-based escalation point for core application domain issues, collaborating with shipboard IT and vendors to ensure long-term system stability and resolution. Collaborate & Conquer: Team up with our vendors for technical troubleshooting, updates, and system improvements. Documentation & Knowledge Management: Craft clear documentation for configurations, workflows, and user guides, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity of support. Your efforts will ensure our knowledge base is always top-notch and everyone's in the loop. Continuous Learner: Adhere to defined IT standards, policies, and procedures while continuously updating technical knowledge and skills through training and exploration of new technologies. Stay sharp and explore new tech! Effective Communication: Provide timely updates on project progress, challenges, and implementation status to sponsors and leads. Keep key stakeholders in the loop! Team Player: Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time. You might also get involved in various other tasks that pop up, ensuring our team is always agile and responsive. What We're Looking For: A bachelor’s degree, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Familiarity with any of the following technologies is beneficial: Hospitality Systems: PMS, POS, Supply Chain, Dining Management, or related domain applications. Online Systems & Digital Integrations: Understanding of integration tools and platforms (e.g., CRS, Online Booking, Payment Gateways, APIs/XML) and mobile/web application concepts (Android/iOS) to translate operational user stories and collaborate effectively with vendors/developers. Server Environment Awareness: General understanding of application hosting environments (e.g., Windows/Linux servers, IIS, virtual platforms) to support routine application troubleshooting and vendor collaboration. AI Enablement & Automation: Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot Studio, custom AI agents) to automate daily workflows and analysis, with exposure to API system integrations or basic AI governance and safety practices being a plus. Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); experience participating in application implementation or enhancement projects is an added advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to map operational workflows, translate business needs into clear technical requirements, and collaborate across teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bridge gaps between business users, shipboard operations, and technical vendors. Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to manage assigned deliverables independently from start to finish. Operations-minded and results-oriented, focused on delivering reliable, user-friendly solutions that improve daily work efficiency. Willingness to travel for shipboard system rollouts, dry-docks, or operational support as needed. Position level (Application Associate or Application Engineer) will be determined based on experience and fit. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
