The Manager of Settlements team leads a team who is responsible for ensuring all client trades successfully settle on time and in accordance to the safekeeping policy and procedures. Settlement is the core function of Custody. With multiple touchpoint with other stakeholders such as FX, treasury team, lending, and middle office, the Manager is expected to liaise and coordinate with the stakeholders in proactively solving settlement issue as well as addressing systemic issue to permanently improve STP rate and Settlement rate. This position requires strong sense of ownership in the team’s deliverables, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of trade settlement processes and custody services. Leading a high performance team, the incumbent has to lead by example and take pride in the personal growth of each team member and foster a strong bonding among team members. Region: France Working Hours: 9:00AM – 6:00PM What will you do? Lead the team in ensuring clients are provided with timely, accurate, and efficient processing of all Corporate Action events and associated daily entries. The team must ensure the client/ investor is notified and/or paid correctly & timely. Deliver on operational effectiveness by managing the performance of the team against goals and providing continuous improvement ideas . Manage risks by proactively identifying potential issues and mitigating them; strive for satisfactory audit results and train team continuously on accurate operational procedures. Build a high performance team by hiring, training and developing them to deliver on overall operational goals; provide ongoing feedback and conduct formal performance reviews on a semi-annual basis; ensure Business Recovery Planning is conducted and tested on a regular basis. Provide strong leadership through promotion of values, communicating high quality standards and developing yourself against the leadership model. Leading by example, you are expected to meet all deliverables as requested by the senior management. Management of resources to ensure that all daily task are completed to ensure high quality of BAU deliverables are met within the deadlines. What do you need to succeed? Must-have Extensive experience in leading a team of 6 or more, or record of grooming multiple junior staff in their career including experience in performance management and career development planning. Demonstratable strong accountability in the actions & deliverables of the team. Strong understanding in Custody Settlement and resourceful in navigating the organization. Strong comprehension in understanding an issue and problem-solving skills. Clear and concise communication to coordinate event between stakeholders. Good command in English – ability to speak, write, converse with European stakeholders (both native and non-native English). Strong sense of urgency in dealing with every issue. Strong understanding of escalation and able to work under pressure. At least 5 years experience working in Custody back office or Middle Office asset servicing operations Nice-to-have Experience in managing reconciliation for highly sensitive product such as cash, FX, derivatives, or settlement. Extensive experience in leading a team of 5 or more, or record of grooming multiple junior staff in their career Demonstrated strong emotional intelligence, professionalism, and maturity in handling conflicting issues between stakeholders and/or team members. Demonstrated strong business & commercial acumen Demonstrated strong critical thinking and decision making
