At Shore, the early years are where confidence is built, curiosity is strengthened and boys begin to understand what it means to learn, belong and contribute. Shore is, at its heart, a relational school. Our strength lies in the quality of our people and the depth of our connections across students, staff, families and Old Boys. Built on the foundation of the Christian faith, we seek to be inclusive, welcoming and purposeful in all that we do. The Assistant Head of Preparatory School K,1,2 is a rare opportunity to lead with both inspiration and practical impact, shaping the daily experience of young learners, supporting outstanding teachers and helping families feel deeply connected to the life of the School. A little bit about the role: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced primary educator and emerging or established school leader to lead Kindergarten to Year 2 at our Northbridge Campus. Shore is one school, ELC to Year 12, operating across two campuses, and this role plays an important part in strengthening that connected journey for our youngest Preparatory School students. The Northbridge Campus also includes Shore’s Early Learning Centre, and while this role is focused on K,1,2, it works closely with the Head of Preparatory School and the Director of the Early Learning Centre to support a seamless campus experience. You will be a visible and trusted presence across the K,1,2 community, leading teaching staff, guiding student wellbeing and pastoral matters, partnering with families and ensuring the smooth daily operation of this vibrant part of the Preparatory School. With a teaching allocation of approximately 0.5 FTE, the role remains close to the classroom, allowing you to model excellent practice and stay deeply connected to the learning experience of young students. To be successful, you will: Bring a strong understanding of contemporary primary education, wellbeing and the needs of young learners Inspire confidence in others through calm, visible and relational leadership Support teaching excellence through coaching, collaboration, professional learning and clear expectations Coordinate campus operations with calm organisation, sound judgement and attention to detail Model service, humility, courage and care in a way that reflects Shore’s ethos If you are ready to lead with heart, imagination and purpose, and to help shape the earliest years of a Shore education with lasting impact, we would be delighted to hear from you. Our Commitment to you: At Shore, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing and growth of our staff. Guided by our values, we take a holistic approach to wellbeing, recognising the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, professional, and financial aspects of life. We offer a range of wellbeing initiatives, professional development opportunities, and support services designed to help you thrive at every stage of your career. Just as we invest in the growth of our students, we are equally committed to ensuring our staff feel supported, valued, and able to do their best work.
