About the Role We're looking for a skilled Hydraulic Hose Technician to join our Gisborne team. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will manufacture, repair and service hydraulic hoses and fittings to a high standard — mostly in our workshop, with some mobile work out at customer sites. A company vehicle is provided for your call-outs. APPM is a family-owned hydraulic, mechanical and engineering business supporting forestry, agriculture, marine, transport and industrial customers across Tairāwhiti/East Coast. Our hydraulics work is varied — from workshop hose builds through to on-site repairs and breakdowns — so no two days are quite the same. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys being part of a high-performing team, and is committed to delivering great outcomes for our customers. Key Responsibilities • Manufacture, assemble and crimp hydraulic hoses to specification. • Carry out hose repairs, replacements and installations in the workshop and on customer sites. • Respond to mobile call-outs using the company vehicle provided. • Keep accurate job records and timesheets. • Work safely at all times and follow APPM's health and safety policies and procedures. Performance Expectations • Complete hose repairs and installations to a high standard, right first time. • Respond promptly to call-outs and manage your time well between workshop and field work. • Represent APPM professionally on customer sites and stay 100% loyal to our brand. • Show up with a good attitude, solid workmanship and reliability. Qualifications & Licensing • Minimum three years' industry experience. • Sound understanding of hydraulic hose/fitting selection. • A current NZ driver's licence (Class 1 minimum). • NZ residency or a valid work visa. Tools & Equipment • Your own basic hand tools — we will supply the specialist hose and hydraulic equipment. What APPM Provides • A company vehicle for mobile call-outs. • Varied hydraulics work — no two days the same. • Support to grow your skills and your career. • A team that backs each other and wants to see you succeed. • The lifestyle that comes with living and working in Gisborne — surf, sun, and no traffic. • Pay reflecting your experience and what you bring to the team. Working at APPM Co-operation and collaboration with fellow staff members is important. APPM prides itself on establishing a contented workplace where everyone works toward a common goal of high-quality workmanship, meeting clients' needs, and supporting fellow employees. You will be supported by — and will support — the relevant managers, Directors, and the HR and H&S team. Sound like you? Apply with your CV and a short cover letter telling us a bit about yourself.
