About the role We are seeking a Merchandise Sales professional to join our dynamic team in Bathurst, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in driving sales of agricultural merchandise and building strong relationships with our farming and business clientele. In this role, you will be instrumental in promoting our product range, understanding customer needs, and delivering tailored solutions that support agricultural success. Your contribution will directly impact both our sales performance and customer satisfaction, making you essential to Silmac's continued growth and reputation in the region. Key responsibilities Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the agricultural sector, including farms, rural businesses, and agricultural contractors Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty Provide expert product knowledge and recommendations to customers based on their specific agricultural needs and requirements Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and satisfaction Achieve and exceed sales targets whilst maintaining profitability margins Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase merchandise benefits and applications Collaborate with the team to identify market trends and customer preferences to inform merchandising strategies Respond promptly to customer enquiries and resolve any issues or concerns professionally Participate in promotional activities and industry events to increase brand awareness What we're looking for Proven experience in sales, preferably within agricultural, farm services, or related retail environments Strong knowledge of agricultural products, farming practices, and customer needs within the sector Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse customers Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with computer systems and sales software A passion for agriculture and understanding of farming communities is highly valued Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing customer and market demands Valid Drivers license essential and forklift license preferred.
