Our client is a leading manufacturer of wire harnesses serving a diverse range of industries. The company is seeking a well-rounded and experienced candidate for the position of Strategic Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimisation, and procurement initiatives that support the company’s operational and business objectives. Job Description: Lead the modernisation and continuous improvement of the procurement and supply chain framework. Drive strategic sourcing, supplier management, process optimisation, risk mitigation, and procurement team development initiatives. Enhance team capabilities, streamline system workflows, and drive cost efficiencies across raw material procurement, imports, and supply chain operations. Lead, mentor, and develop the existing Operational Purchasing and Shipping teams to improve performance and capability. Evaluate team workflows, identify operational bottlenecks, and establish KPIs to improve productivity, accuracy, and overall efficiency. Develop and conduct training and capability-building initiatives to strengthen the team’s knowledge of modern procurement, sourcing, and import compliance practices. Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for key raw materials to achieve optimal pricing, quality, supply continuity, and payment terms. Build, maintain, and evaluate strategic relationships with key global suppliers. Lead high-value contract negotiations, supplier performance reviews and audits, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses. Review existing purchasing, shipping, and raw material import processes to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. Identify process and system gaps and implement appropriate digital tools, system enhancements, ERP/WMS solutions, and best practices to streamline operations. Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across purchasing, import logistics, and customs documentation. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to global disruptions, lead times, raw material price volatility, currency fluctuations, and supplier performance. Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import duties, international trade requirements, and applicable laws governing raw material imports. Collaborate closely with management to align procurement strategies and budgets with corporate financial and operational objectives. Monitor market trends, raw material indices, commodity pricing, and shipping rates, providing proactive strategic insights and recommendations to executive management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain Management, preferably within electronics, wire harness manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, or related industries. Proven experience in a people management role, leading and developing Purchasing, Procurement, Logistics, or Supply Chain teams. Hands-on experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with a good understanding of Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems and their application within warehouse and logistics operations. Strong expertise in raw material sourcing, international import/export procedures, customs requirements, and logistics risk management. Proven track record in process improvement, system optimisation, and the implementation of procurement and supply chain best practices. Excellent negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Excellent command of both Thai and English, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
