About the role: Long-term maintenance project working specifically across North Shore and North Auckland water treatment facilities . You will be travelling between multiple sites throughout this area, so you must be comfortable working across North Auckland. As the Mechanical Fitter, you will carry out maintenance, inspections, repairs and modifications on pumps, valves and associated plant equipment. This is a field-based role using your own vehicle. Mileage travelled between work sites is reimbursed in line with current IRD rates. Responsibilities will include: Preventative and breakdown maintenance on pumps, valves and associated plant equipment Mechanical inspections, servicing and component replacement Fault finding and repair work across treatment plant equipment Supporting shutdowns and scheduled maintenance activities General fitting, repair and modification work Adhering to site health & safety procedures at all times Skills + Experience: Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter within industrial, infrastructure or plant environments Experience working on pumps, valves and rotating equipment Strong mechanical fault finding ability Welding and fabrication experience advantageous Good understanding of health & safety procedures Ability to work both independently and within a team Compliance requirements – we can assist suitable candidates with arranging these: Confined Space Working at Heights First Aid Hepatitis A & B vaccinations Tetanus and Polio vaccinations Required site inductions Pay + Benefits: $50/hr PAYE or $65/hr + GST Mileage reimbursed between sites Monday to Friday hours Ongoing until end of year with potential to extend Immediate start once compliant About Us: Techtrade is a specialist engineering and trade recruitment company, offering short & long term contract work as well as permanent jobs for skilled candidates.
