Deepsky is a privately owned company based in Hong Kong that has been developing new technologies for LED screens for more than ten years. We build the industry’s first end-to-end video processing solution for LED displays: Smart IC LED drivers (ASIC) featuring Deepsky’s patented Variable Current Technology, for outstanding HDR picture quality FPGA-based gateway boards between the LED drivers and the Ethernet video distribution A high-performance Linux GPU processor as screen controller OrbitalCam, our robotic precision calibration camera for LED panel opto-electrical characterization in our customers’ factories Picture quality is the entire point of our stack — and calibration is where it is won. Every LED on a Deepsky screen is individually photographed, measured and corrected. You will take ownership of our calibration and color-science software: a Python monorepo of about twenty packages — pure algorithm libraries, calibration machine software, and the robotic acquisition layer — that turns camera and spectroradiometer measurements into per-LED corrections rendered live on the wall. This is an end-to-end ownership role: you design the pipeline that runs in production, improve its algorithms, and extend it as our silicon evolves. Responsibilities Own the calibration pipeline end to end: image acquisition on the robotic camera station; per-LED measurement (PSF deconvolution, geometric correction, dead-LED detection, XYZ calculations, non-linearity characterization); post-processing into per-LED color corrections; packaging for transfer to the GPU processor for application at rendering time; and performance measurement tools (color accuracy benchmarks, reports) Support our operations team during production calibration campaigns Keep the codebase healthy: layered architecture, CI, packaging, tests and documentation Requirements Strong Python scientific computing (NumPy/SciPy): you write vectorized, tested numerical code and can profile it Solid applied mathematics: linear algebra, optimization and model fitting, interpolation, basic probability and statistics An autonomous owner: this pipeline is critical to the product, and you will run it, evolve it, and document it for others Nice to have Image processing / computer vision experience Colorimetry knowledge (CIE XYZ, chromaticity, ΔE metrics, HDR transfer functions) Machine-learning experience applied to correction or fitting problems PostgreSQL, Qt/PyQt, Debian packaging Organization Our team works mostly remotely from France and Hong Kong. Our HQ, operations, digital electronics, sales and marketing teams are located in Hong Kong (Tsuen Wan); screen production is in Shenzhen at our partner’s factories. The position can be based in our Hong Kong office or remote; occasional travel to Hong Kong and Shenzhen during special calibration campaigns and new feature tests is part of the job. Excellent English proficiency is required. We can sponsor work visa applications in Hong Kong.
