Project Welder/Fabricator

Adecco is currently seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Welder/Fabricator with strong experience in structural steel fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly for Project work as needed. Flexible work schedule, pay rate reflects experience and capabilities. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG, TIG, and stick welding, able to read and interpret engineering drawings, and confident working with a variety of metals and fabrication equipment. You will have a strong focus on quality workmanship, safety, and productivity, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience fabricating, fitting, and welding heavy industrial, structural, or mechanical components is highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude toward meeting project deadlines. They will be physically fit, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship. General Tasks and Responsibilities – Mechanical Welder/Fabricator Fabricate, assemble, and weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminium components to specification. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical plans. Measure, mark out, cut, shape, and fit materials using hand and power tools. Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding to meet quality standards. Operate workshop machinery including grinders, drills, presses, saws, and fabrication equipment. Complete fit-up and assembly of mechanical and structural components. Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with drawings, tolerances, and quality requirements. Conduct repairs, modifications, and maintenance on fabricated equipment and structures. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area. Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and team members to achieve project deadlines. Troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues and recommend practical solutions. Perform material handling, loading, and unloading using appropriate equipment. Record job progress, completed work, and quality documentation as required. Assist with site installation and shutdown work when required.
