Unley Community Childcare Centre is a small not-for-profit, community-based long day care licensed for a maximum of 45 children each day. We’re excited to welcome a passionate Early Childhood Teacher who is looking to join a collaborative child-focused environment. In this full-time role you will be responsible for providing high-quality, play based early education and care to children aged from 3 years to preschool age. This contract is initially for 1 year with the possibility of ongoing employment for the right candidate. The successful Educator will: Work with families and their fellow educators to ensure that children are supported as individuals within a group setting Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and their fellow educators Provide a nurturing and safe environment that supports children's wellbeing and development Have leadership skills, be organised, patient, flexible and reliable Keep an open mind to diverse perspectives, share their ideas with confidence, and engage in reflective practices Have strong written and verbal communication skills Develop and implement an engaging, play-based learning program for individual children and the group Use an online learning app to share information with families and educators, and use other computer applications such as Microsoft Word Essential requirements: Bachelor of Early Childhood Education/Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) or ACECQA approved equivalent Current Teachers Registration Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Masterclass (RRHAN-EC) National Child Safety Training (through GECCKO) Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting and CPR (HLTAID012) A strong understanding of the EYLF and NQS Be committed to child protection, safety and wellbeing Have experience working with children from 3 years to preschool age What we offer: We offer a wide range of attractive benefits including Above award wages Additional personal leave days 5 hours of non-contact time per week Paid professional development opportunities Access to an inclusion support program Access to an employee assistance program Childcare gap fee discount Work life balance and flexible rostering Free annual flu shot and whooping cough vaccine Centre funded First Aid, CPR and RRHAN-EC training Supportive and collaborative team culture and team building events Our Centre receives the Early Childhood Worker Retention payment from the Australian Government, wages listed are inclusive of this payment.
