Brookby Quarries Limited is one of Auckland’s prime manufacturing quarries and we have a new opportunity for an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician to join our hard-working, enthusiastic team based at our quarry located in Brookby. This position is for a full-time person who has proven experience working with Mining/Quarry machinery. Must have a keen eye for detail, self-motivated, organised. The successful applicant will be working within a team who oversee the day-to-day maintenance & operations of quarry machinery & equipment (excavators, trucks, loaders, crushing machinery). Main tasks of this role: - Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy diesel engines and hydraulic systems Troubleshoot and repair equipment Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all machinery to ensure optimal performance Ability to keep and maintain detailed records of services and repairs performed using a CMMS (MEX) Software Identify and request parts as required Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications, skills & experience: - Eligibility to work in New Zealand Minimum of 3 years experience Proven experience working with mining/quarry machinery Experience with Komatsu machinery preferred but not essential Ability to read & interpret technical manuals Reliable with good time management Pride in quality workmanship A positive can-do attitude with an eye for detail Good written and verbal communication skills Is physically fit and able to manually handle items/parts. Demonstrates initiative A team player while also being able to work independently What we offer Competitive hourly rate, depending on qualifications/experience.
