My client is one of Queenstowns best places to work. As they continue to grow and evolve they are now looking for someone with a strong technical accounting skillset to join the team. This is more than a traditional financial accounting position. You'll have genuine ownership of the reporting and controls environment, visibility with senior finance leadership and the opportunity to influence how the finance function operates. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a great opportunity for a technically strong Financial Accountant to take genuine ownership of the month-end and year-end close, while playing a key role in cashflow reporting, working capital and finance process improvement. This is a high-visibility role where you'll have the opportunity to strengthen reporting and controls, work closely with senior finance stakeholders and make a tangible impact across the wider finance function. What you'll be responsible for Take ownership of the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting Manage the general ledger, including reconciliations and balance sheet integrity Assist with the preparation of monthly board reporting and financial insights Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with NZ IFRS Lead year-end reporting requirements, including IFRS 16 lease accounting Maintain and continuously improve the organisation's internal control framework Act as a key point of contact for external auditors throughout the year-end audit Own cashflow forecasting and contribute to working capital improvement initiatives Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls and improve the overall effectiveness of the finance function What we're looking for You'll be a commercially minded accountant who enjoys taking ownership, getting into the detail and finding better ways of doing things.
