This Junior Claim Handler role in Mechanical is ideal for someone wanting to stay in the Automotive Industry, but keen to venture out of the workshop— maybe you've worked in a garage, completed an apprenticeship, or you're just the go-to person when someone’s car breaks down. You’ll be trained to handle vehicle breakdown claims, working closely with experienced assessors and developing the skills to progress into an experienced Claim Handler role. What You’ll Be Doing: You’ll be answering mechanical breakdown claim enquires — helping customers and garages through the process, gathering information, and making sure claims are logged and managed correctly. With time and training, you’ll learn to make informed decisions on whether repairs fall within policy cover. Handling incoming and outgoing calls with garages, repairers and customers Reviewing mechanical faults and service records with guidance from senior assessors Logging and updating claims in our system Learning how to read estimates, understand vehicle diagnostics, and interpret mechanical failures What We’re Looking For: We need someone who’s mechanically minded, switched on, and happy speaking to people. You don’t need insurance experience — just a solid grounding in how vehicles work and the willingness to learn. A good understanding of vehicle mechanics and systems Strong communication skills — especially on the phone Confident using a computer, online portals, and Outlook Practical, logical approach to solving problems A mechanical apprenticeship or experience in a workshop or garage is a big plus Why Join Janssen?
