Mō te tūnga | About the role The Innovation and Technology team identifies and explores new energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, trends and solutions happening globally and in New Zealand, and provides overarching recommendations and insights to the Leadership Team. The Project Delivery Lead – Distributed Flexibility will lead the development and delivery of initiatives that enable smarter and more flexible use of energy across New Zealand. The role will build EECA’s capability and delivery capacity in distributed flexibility, by designing, implementing, managing and evaluating pilot programmes, market development activities, and strategic initiatives that enable smarter, more flexible energy use across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Working closely with industry, electricity networks, technology providers and other government agencies, you will help identify opportunities, test new approaches, capture evidence and insights, and support successful solutions to progress towards wider market adoption. Key responsibilities of the role include: Leading the development and delivery of distributed flexibility projects, pilots and demonstrations. Translating emerging technologies and market opportunities into practical initiatives and delivery plans. Coordinating multidisciplinary delivery across EECA and external partners. Support procurement, commercial arrangements and management of delivery partners. He kōrero mōu | About you To be successful in this role, you’ll have: A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Energy, Technology, Business, Project Management or equivalent work experience. 5+ years' experience delivering complex projects, programmes, pilots or innovation initiatives. Experience in distributed flexibility, demand response, distributed energy resources, smart energy systems, energy markets, EV charging, Vehicle-to-Everything, customer energy technologies, or electricity network innovation. Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and collaboration skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
