Trainee Stone Installer / Labourer $27–$32 per hour, depending on experience About the role Top Stone is looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our team as a Trainee Stone Installer / Labourer . This is an entry-level position, so previous stone installation experience is not required . We are looking for someone who is practical, hardworking and keen to learn a skilled trade. You will work alongside our experienced installers, learning how to safely handle and install granite, marble, engineered stone and porcelain benchtops and surfaces. As your skills and experience develop, you will be given more responsibility and the opportunity to progress within the business. Key responsibilities Assist with the installation of stone and porcelain benchtops. Safely load, unload and handle stone products. Assist experienced installers on residential and commercial sites. Learn correct installation techniques and finishing standards. Keep vehicles, tools and work areas clean and organised. Follow health and safety procedures at all times. Help troubleshoot and solve practical problems on site. Take pride in producing high-quality work. About you We are looking for someone who: Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic. Is physically fit and comfortable with manual work. Has good attention to detail. Is practical and confident using tools. Is willing to listen, learn and take direction. Works well as part of a team. Takes pride in doing a job properly rather than cutting corners. Has a full NZ driver's licence . Previous experience in construction, building, joinery, cabinetry, stonework or another hands-on trade would be an advantage, but is not essential .
