An award winning CA practice is seeking a Qualified Accountant/BAS Manager (Immediate level) to join our South Auckland team. This leadership role is pivotal to the smooth running of our accounting practice, ensuring that our operations are efficient, well-organised and support our team in delivering exceptional service to our clients. As senior qualified Accountant you will oversee the day-to-day operational activities of our practice, support our team with book keeping and business advisory services, manage processes, systems and resources to optimise productivity and maintain our high standards of service delivery whilst maintaining our cultural focus on supporting maori, pasifika businesses. Key responsibilities Manage and oversee daily operational activities of the accounting practice, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows Develop, implement and maintain operational processes and procedures to enhance productivity and quality Supervise and coordinate the activities of support staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback Monitor financial performance of the practice, including budgets, timesheets and resource allocation Maintain and optimise practice management systems, software and technology infrastructure Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and quality control requirements Manage client and staff communications, responding to enquiries and resolving operational issues promptly Liaise with accounting team members to understand practice needs and implement solutions that support service delivery Manage office administration, including scheduling, facilities and vendor relationships Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation within the practice What we're looking for Proven experience in practice management or business operations within an accounting or professional services environment Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams Proficiency in accounting practice management software and Microsoft Office applications Knowledge of bookkeeping and small practice accounting operations is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and monitor financial performance Problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement and efficiency Professional attitude with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and take initiative whilst contributing effectively to a team environment Understanding of compliance and quality control requirements in accounting practices What we offer We value our team and are committed to providing a supportive and professional working environment.
