About the role Earthmoving Central Ltd is looking for an experienced and reliable Heavy Machinery Operator / Truck Driver to join our team full-time. This is a varied role suited to someone who is comfortable working across different machinery, trucks and job sites. Our work includes general earthworks, civil construction, rural and vineyard work throughout Central Otago. Key responsibilities Operate excavators and other tracked machinery Operate wheeled machinery and rollers Drive trucks for cartage of materials, machinery and spoil General excavation, trenching, site preparation and earthworks Vineyard earthworks and development Roading, accessways and general civil works Loading and unloading machinery and materials Carry out daily pre-start checks and basic plant maintenance Keep machinery, trucks and work areas clean and well maintained Identify and report faults or maintenance requirements About you Current NZ Class 4 driver's licence – minimum WTR endorsements or ability to obtain them Previous experience operating heavy machinery Competent and confident operating both wheeled and tracked equipment Good understanding of safe excavation and earthmoving practices Able to carry out basic machinery maintenance and daily checks Reliable, punctual and able to work unsupervised when required Good communication skills and a practical attitude Able to work as part of a small team and take responsibility for equipment and jobs About us Earthmoving Central Ltd provides commercial, rural, vineyard and general earthmoving services throughout Central Otago.
