Pastoral Team Member - Pastoral Care Ministry

About the role Pastoral Care Ministry (PCM) provides pastoral care including walking alongside the sick, the bereaved, and the homebound in Wesley Methodist Church, and offering timely pastoral presence in some of life's hardest moments. We are looking for someone who senses a calling to respond with urgency and compassion to those in need of pastoral care. What you'll do Respond to bereavement matters with urgency, providing pastoral care and follow up Coordinate, visit, and conduct wake and funeral services, including interment of ashes and ash scattering Respond to and provide pastoral visits and follow up for those who are sick, in hospitals or nursing homes, or homebound Provide pastoral care and oversight as needed Conduct pastoral care training and equipping Guide and support the ministry executives, working well as part of the team Collaborate with Wesley Glowing Years Ministry (GYM) to disciple and care for seniors Participate and contribute to WMC's staff meetings, training, weekly services, and events Perform other roles and responsibilities as assigned by the PCM's Pastor and the Church What we're looking for Theological qualifications or relevant experience in pastoral or similar roles Background working in a church, nursing home, hospice, or parachurch organisation Hands on pastoral care experience, including visiting the sick and dying, walking through bereavement, and caring for the elderly Strong planning and coordination skills, with a natural ability to relate to and work with people If you sense God’s call for you to respond and be a part of His work through Wesley Methodist Church, please click Quick Apply to submit your full resume, indicate expected salary and availability.
